The new craze that is taking over social networks – making a list of everything you want in a partner. Making demands like being over six foot, having a new model car, owning a home and making six figures is what women are demanding out of their potential mate. Are we allowed to make these demands when we aren’t being the best versions of ourselves?
Reality Check
Before you jump on a dating site and make a list of your demands of your ideal partner, take a good look in the mirror. Are you doing everything to make you something to be desired? What are you bringing to the table? How can you match certain traits that you’re demanding.
Everyone needs to be realistic when it comes to what someone else can offer. When you do find love, your needs will be met in ways that you might have never expected. But it’s being open to the possibilities rather than being close minded and demanding.
Don’t Compare
Easier said than done, but when it comes to relationships, try to avoid comparing your situation with someone else’s. Everyone loves differently, and everyone fulfills certain needs in relationships in different ways. The grass will always be greener on the other side – until you find someone that is right for you. If you are constantly comparing your partner to someone else or wishing your situation was different, you may not be ready for a relationship. You have to be happy with yourself first, and then you will be ready to love again.
