View through clothing rail of woman in long evening dress

Venturing out into the craziness of the malls during the holidays to nab that perfect sparkly dress that makes you feel 10 pounds lighter and is on sale, is like hitting the gold mine! It’s not easy, but taking the time pays off. You should use the same philosophy when looking for Mr. Right.

When you set out to find your perfect dress, you already have something in mind. You go to your favorite store, decide before hand if you want something short and sexy or long and classy. A budget narrows your options further. Then a few color preferences are in the back of your mind. You pick the top five and take them to the dressing room. Trying them on judging in the mirror, checking the price tags and finally your perfect one stands out from the rest. Yes, your hunt is over!

You had your top qualities in mind before even heading to the store. When you got there you divided then conquered. Never would a woman go to a department store and try on dresses from Petite, Plus Size and Juniors. You know your size, you go to that department. Then your budget filters down the dresses further. Then style, color, and so on.

The same filtering process should be used with dating. Have your top five non-negotiables in mind when you’re venturing out into the vast dating jungle. Be very picky in the initial narrowing down phase. From those that qualify, then refine down further until you’re down to a few top prospects. Spend some time trying them on for size and see if one fits better than the rest. Maybe one works for a while then something snags. It’s ok, just save the receipt so you can take it back to the store and try the next. Eventually you’ll find your perfect fit that makes you feel like you hit the jackpot.
